Tone Tubby Appoints Charlie Shapiro As Technical Marketing Specialist
Haight Ashbury, California, June 23, 2014 – Tone Tubby, manufacturers of premium-quality hempcone speakers for electric guitar and bass amplification announced it has appointed Charlie Shapiro as Technical Marketing Specialist. In his position Shapiro is involved in a wide range of the company’s activities including marketing and sales, customer support, and product development and engineering.
Shapiro is a musical instrument industry veteran who previously worked with East Coast Music as a sales technical specialist and managed the pro audio and electric guitar sales/setup at New Haven, Connecticut retailer Guitars Unlimited. He has more than 40 years of experience as a producer and engineer and has been a consultant to a variety of companies in areas ranging from MIDI/word clock synchronization for digital audio workstations to the prototyping and field-testing of the classic 1980s Audioarts Model 4100 Parametric Equalizer.
“Charlie has some of the best ears of anyone I’ve ever met,” said Thom Brown, CEO of Tone Tubby, “and has the engineering expertise to translate the sound a musician wants to hear into real-world products and solutions.” He’s adept at everything from zeroing in on the differences between different types of speaker magnets to helping bands in the studio sort out the most picky sonic production details.”
“A big part of my job is helping a customer choose the Tone Tubby speaker that’s right for them, whether they have an ideal sound in their head but aren’t sure how to achieve it or if they’re knowledgeable about every aspect of speaker, guitar and amp design and are looking for the ideal speaker as the final ingredient to complete their dream rig,” said Shapiro.
Shapiro holds BA, BS, and Masters degrees from Antioch College and Pace University with extensive MBA course work at the University of Connecticut. He has designed, developed and managed large-scale communications networks at and for General Electric, Penn Central, Reichhold and PepsiCo. Shapiro resides in the Marin/Sonoma County area of California. By his own admission he “has had my hands on every recording device ever made, from wax cylinders and wire recorders to multitrack tape decks and digital workstations.”
