Institute Songwriting Student Finds Success With LAB Records

Institute 3rd Year BA (Hons) Songwriting student Natasha North has just signed a record deal with UK based label LAB Records. Originally from Buckinghamshire, Natasha has taken the London music scene by storm. In 2012, Natasha set up her own record label, Green Oak Records, releasing all her material herself whilst studying.
Natasha’s will and determination to succeed in the industry, has already lead to her being featured in The Huffington Post and Macs Magazine alongside radio play on BBC Radio 2 and BBC introducing.
Natasha is planning to release her next EP this autumn and that deal looks to be a step in what is set to be an exciting year and career for her.
Natasha’s BA Songwriting programme leader commented, “Tash has been a highly motivated and successful student from the start. After early experimentation with various styles, she soon found her unique voice as a songwriter and by the end of Year 1, she was selling her first EP on the festival circuit. She is a brilliant multi-instrumentalist contributing to many student bands. She is also a lovely person and very popular member of the student body at The Institute. I've bought her first 2 EP's and can't wait to get a copy of the next one and ultimately her album.”
Natasha kicked off 2014 with a tour supporting Grammy-nominated artist Suzanne Vega, providing her with great experience of performing to 1500+ crowds. Since then, Natasha has recorded her new EP with Paul Stanborough, which has, in turn, led to the deal being inked with LAB.
Natasha joins the LAB roster alongside artists such as Hellogoodbye, Katie Sky, Young Kato and William Beckett. Having returned from playing the Isle of Wight festival this weekend, Natasha has announced that she will be joining Mike Dignam, another distinguished Institute alumni, this July on his 'Sing With Me' UK tour. Further details on Natasha can be found on her website at http://www.natashanorth.com/
