Enrique Gómez Piñeiro Has Been Elected As New General Director Of SGAE

The Board of Directors of the General Society of Authors and Editors (SGAE) has designated the current Director of Commerce Enrique Gómez Piñeiro as the General Director of the Spanish collective management entity for author's rights.

Gómez Piñeiro performed his role as SGAE Director of contracts and licenses from the year 1995 until 2013, where he assumed the role of Director of Commerce.

Enrique Gómez Piñeiro was awarded a degree in Business Science by the Higher School of Business Technique- University of Deusto in San Sebastian's campus (1971) and was also awarded a degree in Economics and Business Sciences by the University of Deusto (1982). He also graduated from Holding Company by the Superior College of Legal Sciences of Mexico D.F. (1981). He attended in the Institute of Fiscal and Administrative Studies of Mexico D.F. a diploma course in Holding Business, Fiscal Finance Planning and re-expression of State Finances (1981). Also in Mexico, he took a master course in Marketing direction at the Superior Centre of Business Studies.

With a broad experience in business management, either in Spain or overseas, since he began his professional career in 1971, he has always performed in positions of high responsibility, as an initiate in business management in the role of Director of Administration, then carrying on as Controller, General Subdirector and General Director in recording companies, as well as Economic-Finance Director in technical cabinets and environmental management.

The leadership of SGAE falls on its Board of Directors, government organ and representation of the society composed of 39 members, partners from the entity, which are spread amongst the College of Great Law, the College of Small Law, The Audiovisual College and the College of Music Publishers. The election of the person responsible of the general leadership corresponds to the Board of Government.

The permanent and executive administration of the entity corresponds to the Board of Leadership which is formed by its President, 13 members from the Board of Directors, and the General Director; the General Secretary and five managers from the Society's administration.
