Nashville Guitar Virtuoso David Andersen Re-Connects With Hometown Fans For The First Time In 25 Years

Nashville, TN - For the first time in 25 years, the Ambassador of Music City and resident guitarist David Andersen, returned to his hometown for a West Coast performance on the square Saturday, June 21st in Fullerton, CA, home of Fender guitars.

The event highlighted Andersen along with Fullerton musicians. Fans and friends arrived from all over Los Angeles and Orange County by trains and local media attended covering the event. During the show, Andersen played a mix of guitar hits from the 1960s including Foggy Mountain Breakdown, Day Tripper, Birdland and Walk Don't Run. “It was a thrilling moment for me to hit the stage and look out and see hundreds of fans and friends dancing and enjoying the moment and the music,” says Andersen.

Andersen’s re-connection with his hometown brought back up his forgotten past career as a recording/performing pop artist in LA. He previously had a performing and recording career in Hollywood back in the 1970s and ‘80s. Over the last year, fans and re-discovered friends have sent Andersen notes on Facebook, pieces of his past in the forms of photos, posters, cassette tapes, vinyl records and concert tickets. Also found was a hand-written diary of the firsthand accounts of Andersen's early days working with the greats like Bruce Springsteen, Tom Waits, Joni Mitchell and Jackson Browne that underwrites his history.

Currently, he is working on his upcoming CD which will be an anthology of this rediscovered, classic music written by himself and recorded in his days of working at the famous Troubadour club and recording in the top studios in Hollywood like Capitol and A&M. Andersen has been asked to make a return performance with some of his old band members, reprising their music this fall. “I’m overjoyed about being a part of this meaningful opportunity,” he states.

Now back in Nashville, Andersen wrapped up being a part of the Nashville #Selfie project, honoring the #Ambassador term. The exhibit, which was on display for three weeks in downtown Nashville, incorporated 100 submitted selfies, capturing what could be termed a collective “Selfie” of Music City, along with a hashtag defining that person.

This ironman guitar maestro plays six days a week at the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum, along with other high profile events every week in Nashville. A child music prodigy reared in Long Beach, California, this wunderkind could play music before he could even talk. His back-to-back Virtuoso & Virtuoso II CD’s, revisits the repertoire originally explored by his jazz genius Joe Pass and “certified guitar player” and producer/label exec Chet Atkins.

Each day, Andersen gives every new friend he meets at the Country Music Hall of Fame his signature guitar pick and a challenge..."remember why they came to Nashville and to take time to enjoy the music they came here to find." Indeed, with new albums and a landmark accomplishment and milestone under his belt, Andersen not only remembers but lives and breathes the music of Nashville every day.
