10th Annual ASCAP "I Create Music" EXPO Dates Announced

Bookmark and Share

The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) has announced the 10th annual ASCAP "I Create Music" EXPO will be held April 30th through May 2nd, 2015, at the Loews Hollywood Hotel in Los Angeles, CA. ASCAP's signature three-day event is the premier conference for songwriters, composers and producers in all genres of music, and will once again feature creative and business-focused panels, workshops, master classes, keynotes, one-on-one sessions, networking events, state-of-the-art technology demonstrations, performances and more.

All music creators, publishers and music industry personnel can benefit from this one-of-a-kind creative event, which is designed around personal interaction, education and networking. The ASCAP EXPO is open to all and registration is scheduled to begin on October 30th.

ASCAP President and Chairman Paul Williams said: "For 10 extraordinary years our extended ASCAP family of songwriters, composers and music publishers have come together in LA for a meeting of hearts and minds, and have welcomed all those people from around the world who are serious about creating a life in music. The EXPO has evolved into much more than one of today's most valuable educational opportunities; it has become a unique experience that gives all music creators who participate the connections, direction and inspiration they need to forge their own path in today's music industry."

This year's ASCAP "I Create Music" EXPO was held April 24th through the 26th and featured some of the biggest names in music today. Highlights from the conference included master sessions from Akon and Amy Grant; a keynote session with Dr. Luke and his staff at Prescription Songs; a legislative panel that included ASCAP President and Chairman Paul Williams, U.S. Representative Judy Chu and U.S. Congressman Tom Marino; a closing panel featuring an in-depth interview with Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis; and performances from Ray Parker, Jr., Glen Phillips, Richie Sambora, Beth Orton and hit songwriters Desmond Child, Julie Frost and Shane McAnally.

Since 2005, the ASCAP EXPO has brought together some of the music industry's biggest stars, most talented songwriters and successful music industry players. Past keynote sessions have featured Katy Perry, Diplo, Big Sean, Ne-Yo, Stargate, Justin Timberlake, Bill Withers, Jon Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora, Tom Petty, John Mayer, Quincy Jones, Ludacris, Carly Simon, The Smeezingtons (Bruno Mars, Philip Lawrence and Ari Levine), Lindsey Buckingham, Sara Bareilles, Randy Newman, Jackson Browne, Steve Miller, Ann and Nancy Wilson (Heart), and Jeff Lynne.

Writer-composer master sessions, performances, panels and the ASCAP EXPO's signature "We Create Music" panel have also included an impressive list of music creators, such as Pharrell Williams, Peter Frampton, Natasha Bedingfield, Marcus Miller, Desmond Child, Rodney Crowell, Dr. Luke, Jermaine Dupri, James Newton Howard, Fergie, Steve Lillywhite, Paul Williams, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Wyclef Jean, John Rich, Stephen Schwartz, Nico Muhly, Jill Scott, Ricky Skaggs, James Levine, Jimmy Webb, Mike Posner, Jared Leto, Rufus Wainwright, John Rzeznik, Ryan Tedder, Seth MacFarlane, Jason Mraz, Don Was, Judy Collins, Chaka Khan and more.
