Space Ibiza Expands Its Legendary Nightlife Brand With The Opening Of Space Ibiza New York This September

Bookmark and Share

Ibiza's most legendary nightlife and entertainment brand, Space Ibiza, will debut its first North American location in New York with the opening of Space Ibiza New York on Friday, September 12th.

Space Ibiza's New York incarnation will bring the unrivaled energy and entertainment of the world's number one nightclub to Manhattan's burgeoning Hell's Kitchen neighborhood. Nightlife industry veterans, Antonio Piacquadio and Carlo Seneca, along with Michael Geniton and Rob Toma (Director of Talent Procurement), will be spearheading the project with over 35 combined years of experience in both the international hospitality and club scene.

"We are excited to finally be expanding the Space Ibiza brand in New York City. The electric crowds that New York is known for will be a perfect fit for the high energy experience we offer. We are excited to bring a little bit of Ibiza to the city." said co-owners and managing partners, Antonio Piacquadio and Carlo Seneca.
Space Ibiza has established itself as a worldwide reference for dance music culture over the past 25 years. It is hallowed ground for both world-renowned and emerging artists in the electric dance and contemporary musical culture. This unmatched credibility and heritage will be leveraged to bring one-of-a-kind performances from the world's most popular deejays as well as up-and-coming artists to the venue. Securing both resident deejays and special performances, Space Ibiza New York will be the hub for patrons looking to party amongst EDM elite, as well as New York's coveted fashion and art crowds.

Designed by the internationally-renowned hospitality design firm ICRAVE, Space Ibiza New York marries the care-free sensuality of its Spanish origins with the urban, artistic roots of New York City. Laid out over 20,000 customizable square feet, the club features several different rooms, each with a different vibe to please the varying attitudes of its guests. A multi-level main room features floor to ceiling windows, several dance platforms and an over-sized, custom DJ booth that will soon be the host to many of today's top performers. The container lounge, which acts as a lobby leading to the rooftop, pays homage to the history of Hell's Kitchen with a secondary DJ booth built into raw shipyard containers. The rooftop terrace displays panoramic views of the West Side skyline, offering nods to the open-air location in Ibiza. In addition, the exterior of the club will be its own landmark with custom graffiti art by Spanish street artist Belin spanning across the industrial walls.

The nightly narrative unfolds further with the legendary Space Ibiza dancers. Raised platforms on either end of the dance floor have been specially designed for the world-class themed dance performances synonymous with the Space Ibiza experience. Dancers from Ibiza will spend the island's "off-season" in New York while New York-based dancers will be trained in Ibiza to bring the authentic energy of the island's atmosphere.

While reverence is paid to nightlife culture of the past, Space Ibiza's New York location sets a new standard for cutting edge technology in sound, lighting and effects. Space chose NYC-based Anthem sound stage and lighting to provide one of-a-kind systems never before seen in a nightclub environment. This includes an oversized disco ball, previously only seen at music festivals, capable of spinning at unprecedented speeds as well as four custom fabricated intelligent lighting UFO spheres and a super high RPM motorized truss system. The most incredible sound quality has been ensured through a Funktion One sound system, specially crafted for Space Ibiza and its franchises and imported to the US by Anthem SSL: the Space Ibiza Sound System by Funktion One. There is no shortage of layers of effects including cryogenics, which has become a Space Ibiza staple.

The combination of a state-of-the-art electronics and sound system with a high energy ambiance and top deejays and performers will help solidify Space Ibiza New York as a force in the New York nightlife scene. Replicating it's counterpart in Ibiza, Space Ibiza New York will give its guests the ultimate nightlife experience, showing patrons a party from the evening hours until the early morning.
