HitsMeUp Brings Music Fans Closer To Their Favorite Artists

HitsMeUp is a new online platform and app launching March 3, 2017 that will give music fans access to exclusive content from their favorite artists, including music videos, behind-the-scenes coverage, live streaming concerts, exclusive interviews, special announcements, contests and giveaways, and more.

Artists will be able to create their own dedicated channels on HitsMeUp, allowing them to curate an immersive video experience that cannot be found anywhere else.

HitsMeUp was co-founded by five seasoned veterans from the music and media industries who have a desire to fairly compensate artists and content owners beyond the existing platforms. HitsMeUp's platform is powered worldwide by PublicVine's PaaS technology.

In addition to creating a singular experience for music fans, HitsMeUp created a proprietary reporting system to ensure that the platform would be music industry and artist friendly. Video views on HitsMeUp also will be counted by Nielsen's consumption charts, allowing artists to share in a more equitable formula for royalties.

The music industry is constantly evolving and HitsMeUp is a great example of how technology and connectivity is bringing fans and artists closer together. HitsMeUp channels also will include multi-screen experiences where visitors can find tour schedules, shop for official merchandise and more, while watching videos uninterrupted.

"In today's connected age, there was something missing in the experience between music artists and their fans," said Butch Waugh, one of five co-founders of HitsMeUp. "We created one place where artists can really connect with their fans in a way that they have never done before. Through exclusive video, live streaming concerts, behind-the-scenes experiences, and contests, HitsMeUp offers artists a direct line to their fans in an engaging and personal way."

Comcast Spotlight, the advertising sales division of Comcast Cable, is the exclusive international advertising sales partner for HitsMeUp. With its strong customer relationships it can help deliver audiences while monetizing digital impressions.

At launch, HitsMeUp will feature exclusive content channels from record labels including Big Machine Label Group, which is home to artists such as Taylor Swift, Florida Georgia Line, Reba and Thomas Rhett, and Warner Music Nashville, which features artists Blake Shelton, Jana Kramer, Cole Swindell, and Brett Eldredge.

"Our artists have built a reputation for connecting with their fans in a very personal way," said Scott Borchetta, President and CEO, Big Machine Label Group. "HitsMeUp offers us a way to give our artists not only an outlet to engage with fans, but a portal to the music video experience, whether it's a live concert, video premieres, or exclusive announcements. Big Machine TV will offer that enhanced experience for fans."
