1- How long have you in been doing this and how's your path until now in the Music Industry?

I've been singing and writing every since I could remember. When I was a kid my parents bought me a guitar and mic, it's so funny looking back on those pictures. I guess in a way music chose me. My father was a drummer and my mother grew up singing in the local community with my aunts. While watching them sing I became obsessed with music. At the age 9, I had began to write songs that I was proud of and poetry and formed a choir with my cousins. I remember wanting to sound like my mother and aunts when they sang acapella. The blending of their voices would mesmerize me.

At the age of 12, I learned how to play the violin, viola, and became interested in classical music as well as rock. That was a hard year for me because my father had passed away. Thatís when my song writing transformed into writings that where more meaningful, more from the heart. I would listen to any and everything and get inspired. By the time I entered high school I had written over a dozen songs and many poetry pieces. I would hear music in my head, listen to the radio, and turn a beat into something totally different. In high school, I began to perform in talent shows with a group of friends and began to sing and collaborate with other classmates.

After high school, I joined the United States Air Force where I met many other musical talents. I began to record music using equipment they had set up in their dorms. I remember a friend of mine talking about recording and me saying that I sing. We wrote a song and recorded it on the spot. After the military I began to work in the IT field. I met friends that had the same passion for music. I relocated to Fort Knox from St. Louis in 2010. When I relocated I became more aggressive with my writing, bought a microphone, and started self-teaching myself guitar. Every night I wrote something or recorded. It was like an addiction!

I then moved to Maryland/DC area and auditioned for the Voice. I didnít make it not the show but auditioning definitely solidified my passion for music. While auditioning in NY I ran across a flyer for a vocal coach and contacted the astounded Vocal Coach. I began to travel between NY and Maryland every weekend to develop my voice. I moved back to St. Louis after auditioning for the Voice a second time and began to attend the Extreme Institute by Nelly where I graduated with a degree in Recording Engineering and Entertainment Business. Music has been a constant in her life and Iím here to share it.

2- What are your biggest achievements?

Iíve had many achievements and each one has pointed me in the direction of my next achievement. I would have to say that I have been blessed to be given the strength and courage to walk in the path that God has chosen for me.

3- What's your latest release(s) and project(s) and what can you tell us about them?

My new single ďRose ThornĒ is currently available for purchase, download, and streaming on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, and at my website www.venusrenae.com. You can also check out the video on my website or Youtube. Rose Thorn is about a situation that I am very familiar with, and when I was writing it I was thinking about the many people that have no voice.

4- What are your future plans???

I am finishing up my EP, will be touring soon, and I am working on multiple other projects that includes some with music and some in other ventures.

5- What do you like to tell to your supporters out there?

I would like to tell them that I am grateful for their support, I love them, and I am here to stay and want them come along on the journey. If you havenít done so, follow me on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Join my email listing at www.venusrenae.com!
