Jazz at Lincoln Center Managing and Artistic Director Wynton Marsalis and Board Chairman Robert J. Appel, on behalf of the Board of Directors, announced that Pamela Butler has been appointed Vice President, Development. Effective April 17, Ms. Butler will report to Executive Director Greg Scholl.

Ms. Butler joins Jazz at Lincoln Center after a 30 year career at The Metropolitan Museum of Art where she served as Senior Deputy Chief Development Officer for Planned Giving and Administration. She was responsible for every aspect of administration for the Museum's Development Office. A fine arts major and graduate of Connecticut College, Ms. Butler began her career at the Metropolitan Museum in 1988 and helped shape the organization's planned giving program from its inception. She has also served as the Director of Planned Giving for the Central Park Conservancy and launched a new planned giving program for the organization's 20th anniversary year.

In her new role, Ms. Butler will be responsible for leading a team of development professionals focused on fundraising efforts for the organization and its mission from individual and corporate donors, foundations and government sources. She will play a key role in helping develop and expand Jazz at Lincoln Center's current role and offerings as well as its vision for preserving and expanding an appreciation for jazz nationally and internationally, as well as for celebrating the unifying role it played and continues to play in American culture and throughout the world.

"It is with great pleasure that I join Jazz at Lincoln Center. I believe in the importance of its mission and see this as an opportunity to join a great team committed to positioning jazz at the forefront of global cultural conversation," Ms. Butler said. "I look forward to using my skills to benefit the organization. I'm impressed with the passion and commitment shown by Wynton, Greg and the entire staff. Their clear and shared commitment makes positive change possible."

Mr. Scholl said, "With the support and active participation of our Board of Directors, the search for the Vice President position was comprehensive. Pamela shares our philosophy that American arts institutions are a source of national pride on the world stage. Her expertise will contribute to Jazz at Lincoln Center's goals and the next chapter of the organization's growth and development."
