FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

San Diego, CA (Wednesday, September 6th, 2017) - - GRAMMY Award-nominated Windwalker Dorn, from Windwalker and the MCW, the San Diego-based traditional Native American Drum Performance Group that showcases traditional drumming and spiritual Native American Flute, is set to perform alongside fellow musicians known as the HomeBase Band; Jeff Oster on Flugelhorn, Shambhu on Guitar, Alec Hamilton on Keyboard, along with Elizabeth Lauer on Percussion/Rattles/Chimes, at "Live Music + Poetry with Deepak Chopra & Kabir Sehgal" during the opening night festivities of, "HOME: Where Everyone Is Welcome - Poems & Songs Inspired by American Immigrants" at The Chopra Center for Wellbeing in the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa, 2013 Costa Del Mar Road, Carlsbad, CA 92009, on Thursday, September 7th, 2017 at 8:00pm.

Deepak Chopra and Kabir Sehgal will present an exclusive LIVE performance of selections from their new album entitled, "HOME: Where Everyone Is Welcome", featuring The HomeBase Band. 'Home', the book, is a collection of 34 poems and 12 songs inspired by a diverse group of immigrants who have made significant contributions to the United States. From Yo-Yo Ma to Audrey Hepburn, Albert Einstein to Celia Cruz, these poems symbolize the many roads that lead to America and which we expect will continue to converge to build the highways to our future. Offering a welcoming feeling intended to inform our cultural conversation and enhance our national dialogue, Home also has 12 accompanying musical pieces that serve as personal meditations on the essence of home, in which you can reflect upon where you feel most welcome, whether a place or state of mind. Written and composed by immigrants and first-generation Americans, Home provides a stronger sense of welcome and belonging for everyone.

Windwalker, a delightfully gracious and animated woman who provides a sense of serenity everywhere she goes, whose vocabulary is sprinkled with humor and a tremendous spirituality steeped in Native American culture, promotes positive health and wellbeing by embracing Native teachings with stories and legends that bring about positive behaviors in every person she meets. She is of Mi’kmaq, Eastern Cherokee, and Lenni-Lenape descent. ’She Who Walks With the Wind’, is a traditional and generational Native American Healer/Shaman, drummer of the mother drum, keeper of the traditional songs, flutist, traditional story-teller, singer/song-writer, peace rights activist, environmental consciousness activist, women’s/children’s/veteran’s/animal’s rights activist, as well as a water-healer (inside and out). Through native diets and herbs, manipulative therapies, ceremonies that greet the seasons and the harvests, and through spirituality and prayer she promotes health by living in harmony with the earth..."walk in beauty". A genuine love and compassion for others is palpable when in her presence. Windwalker teaches the importance of understanding and helping to better Earth Mother by also conducting ceremonies at all bodies of water. It is through her Workshops that she passes on ancient ways for many generations to come. She is GRAMMY Award-nominated for the traditional songs she plays and multi-award-winning for all four of the albums she’s released. She is a mother, sister, and friend, and full of love, honor, and respect.

Windwalker and the MCW received their GRAMMY Award-nomination in the ‘Best Regional Roots Music Album’ category for their album “Generations” at the 58th Annual GRAMMY Awards in 2015. In 2011, Windwalker and the MCW won an Indian Summer Music Award in the "Best Spiritual Song" category "Grandfather" off of the album entitled, "Ancient Winds". "Grandfather" also received the 2010 Native American Music Award for "Best Single Song" recording. And, "Amazing Grace" off of the "Lenape Spirits" album won the 2009 Native American Music Award for "Best Gospel Inspirational" recording.
