GRAMMY Award-nominated Windwalker And The MCW Will Attend 2017 Indian Summer Music Awards As A Multiple Nominee And Award Show Performer

Milwaukee, WI (Friday, September 8th, 2017) - - GRAMMY Award-nominated Windwalker and the MCW, the San Diego-based traditional Native American Drum Performance Group that showcases traditional drumming and spiritual Native American Flute, will be performing during the 2017 Indian Summer Music Awards (ISMA) to be held at Henry Maier Festival Park, 639 East Summerfest Place, Milwaukee, WI 53202, on Saturday, September 9th, 2017. The Indian Summer Music Awards take place during Indian Summer Festival, which is a Friday, September 8th through Sunday, September 10th weekend event. Windwalker and the MCW received five ISMA nominations including one in the Best Spoken Word category for the song entitled, "Generations" from the album, Seeds Of The Earth; three in the Traditional Native American Drum category for "Henna Maya (Bear Song)", "Mother I Feel", and "Monito Maqua (Objibwa Bear Song)", all from the album, Seeds Of The Earth; and, one in the Traditional Native American Vocal category for the song entitled, "Ma Ha Da (Cherokee Lullaby) also from the album, Seeds Of The Earth.
Windwalker and the MCW will not only perform during the Indian Summer Music Awards Program on Saturday, but are also scheduled to showcase their award-winning talents on the Marketplace Stage at 6:00pm on Friday, September 8th; on the Marketplace Stage at 8:00pm on Saturday, September 9th; and, again on the Marketplace Stage at 4:00pm on Sunday, September 10th.
Windwalker and the MCW received their GRAMMY Award-nomination in the ‘Best Regional Roots Music Album’ category for their album “Generations” at the 58th Annual GRAMMY Awards in 2015. In 2011, Windwalker and the MCW won an Indian Summer Music Award in the "Best Spiritual Song" category "Grandfather" off of the album entitled, "Ancient Winds". "Grandfather" also received the 2010 Native American Music Award for "Best Single Song" recording. And, "Amazing Grace" off of the "Lenape Spirits" album won the 2009 Native American Music Award for "Best Gospel Inspirational" recording.

Indian Summer Festival and the ISMA Awards Show bring some of North America’s most talented recording artists to Milwaukee. The ISMAs are presented live with many of the nominated artists on hand to perform their songs for the festival crowds.
