HOLIDAY MAGIC By Cassandra Kubinski Debuts On The Billboard Heatseekers Chart
New York, NY, November 20, 2017: Billboard-charting singer/songwriter and theatrical pop artist, Cassandra Kubinski, debuts at #46 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart with her holiday EP HOLIDAY MAGIC, released through SunChild Entertainment on Friday, November 10, 2017. The EP is produced by Grammy nominee Chris Sclafani, known for his work engineering for super producer Benny Blanco and working with Ed Sheeran, Gwen Stefani, Rixton, Selena Gomez, and many more pop acts.
HOLIDAY MAGIC features 3 new holiday originals and 3 covers of favorites, including a duet on “Sleigh Ride” with award-winning R&B/pop artist Matt Cusson, a mashup of “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” and Paul Simon’s “Homeward Bound”, and a 3-part harmony version of “Little Drummer Boy” featuring Kubinski’s sisters, based on a longstanding family tradition.
HOLIDAY MAGIC is available through all digital retailers (iTunes, Google Play etc) and also on streaming services such as Spotify. A limited run of custom holiday cards that include HOLIDAY MAGIC on CD are available at www.CassandraKubinski.com
“I called the EP HOLIDAY MAGIC because that’s what the holidays always felt like for me growing up,” says Kubinski. “I watched so many holiday movies, from White Christmas to Frosty, Rudolph, It’s a Wonderful Life...I especially loved the musicals. I remember really specific things like baking sugar cookies with Mom, opening the “share box” from my grandparents with my sisters, and how beautiful the Christmas tree in church was every year. My intention for HOLIDAY MAGIC is that it becomes the soundscape for people’s new holiday memories, and captures that combination of wistfulness, sentimentality, and just pure joy that seems to bubble up for people especially during the holidays.”
Says producer Chris Sclafani of the EP: “It was something i was interested in doing, having never worked on a holiday album. After hearing the same kinds of [Christmas] songs over and over throughout the years, you’re kinda like, maybe there could be some fresh new life to it, so getting that opportunity to work with a new talented songwriter, understanding what they’re going for, and seeing their vision come to life, it’s a lot of fun.”
"Cassandra Kubinski is very similar to the singer/songwriters of the late 70's...proves that the genre (singer/songwriter) can still be transcendent." - Billy Joel
Cassandra’s last and 5th studio album ONWARD hit the Billboard Heatseekers Top 100 upon release in late 2016. She is also known for her Autism anthem “Not So Different”, which was cut by the Goo Goo Dolls and Mary Ramsey of 10,000 Maniacs, released through HAIL! Fredonia Records, and celebrated with a sold-out release concert at Buffalo State’s Rockwell Hall. “Not So Different” has served as the anthem for Autism Speaks walks, and Kubinski has performed it for the NY Islanders hockey team at Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn.
Kubinski’s music has been heard on on Sirius XM (Pat Monahan's "Train Tracks"), Lifetime’s hit show “Dance Moms” (9 song placements), ABC, NBC, Bravo, MTV and more.
She is also a well-known voice-over talent, having voiced commercials for Snickers (2015 Emmy-nominated Superbowl “Brady Bunch” spot with Danny Trejo and Steve Buscemi), Plenti, Hershey’s, Midas, Homegoods, Kohls, Maybelline, and more.
She's performed internationally; opened for The Goo Goo Dolls, 10,000 Maniacs, Anna Nalick, Nelson, and Dickie Betts; and performs at colleges like UCONN, URI, and Albright. She also serves on the Board of Women In Music and The Institute of Audio Research Advisory Committee.
