Music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M5x9JcqPZsc Alternative rock veterans Acid Test are hitting the road in November for a mini-tour of Quebec and Ontario, concluding with a showcase at Toronto’s Indieweek in support of their newly released EP “Jus’ Rite”.
Show dates:
07/11 - Montreal, Quebec @ Mademoiselle w. Johnny Coull
08/11 - Kingston, Ontario @ The Toucan w. Oakridge Ave.
10/11 - Toronto, Ontario @ The Garrison for Indieweek w. Scenic Route to Alaska
Established in the early 90’s, Acid Test gained their sonic reputation extensively touring Canada, the US and the UK, sharing the stage with such artists as Nine Inch Nails, Grace Jones, and The Sugarcubes. Their track “Mr. Skin”, which was featured in the culturally groundbreaking Bruce McDonald film Highway 61, was the second most requested song of 1992 on Toronto’s CFNY.
The first single off their new EP, “Slipping Away” showcases the visceral emotion of Di Santo’s vocals, grinding heavy riffs, thumping drum grooves, and tripped out psychedelic synth lines, all of which harken back to the core of Acid Test’s influences.
Already getting solid airplay on CBC, Stingray, and across Canadian radio, CFNY alum and Lost Indie City Radio Program DJ Pete Fowler described the new single perfectly: “Slipping Away is funky as f$@k!”
