Songwriters Showcase 2020 @ SXSW, Presented By USA Songwriting Competition

USA Songwriting Competition is presenting a songwriters showcase during Austin's SXSW Music and Media Conference, long recognized as the largest musician conference and festival. USA Songwriting Competition is bringing five outstanding music acts:
~Jamie Alimorad (2019 USA Songwriting Competition Top Winner)
~Michael Wesley Stinson
~Vân Scott (2019 USA Songwriting Competition Honorable Mention Winner)
~Justin Hooper & The Simple Parade (2019 USA Songwriting Competition Honorable Mention Winner)
~Keith Rayburn (2019 USA Songwriting Competition, First Prize Winner - Novelty/Comedy)

This will mark USA Songwriting Competition's 18th Annual Songwriters Showcase during SXSW (SXSW Music and Media Conference), to be held on Friday, March 20, 2020, from 7pm to 10pm at Mozart's Coffee Roasters, 3826 Lake Austin Blvd, Austin, TX (512) 477-2900. There is no cover charge and no SXSW badge is needed to attend the showcase. Past venues included the now defunct Borders Bookstore and the Barnes and Noble bookstore.

Michael Wesley Stinson is an Austin-based Singer Songwriter currently ranked # 1 on Reverbnation charts for central Texas and in top 50 in the U.S. Michael writes and performs original Americana music about love and heartbreak, and is joined by some of Austin’s best musicians.

Jamie Alimorad is current top winner of the USA Songwriting Competition. His winning song “Brighter Days” hit #75 on the Pop charts.

Keith Rayburn is a singer-songwriter, currently playing in the Rayburn Brothers Band, featuring his own songs and those of his Brother Craig. The band's musical style ranges from Jazzy Crooning to Folk Rock. They play regularly throughout the central coast of California. Keith's song "Do What You Do" won first prize in the Novelty category of the 2019 USA Songwriting Competition.

Hailing from beautiful Denver, CO, The Simple Parade is a married Folk/Americana Duo consisting of Justin and Kayla Hooper. They won an Honorable Mention Winner at the 2019 USA Songwriting Competition.

As a multi-instrumentalist and singer in the Hollywood session scene, Scott Oatley–d.b.a. Vân Scott – has earned a modest living at his young age, working for some of the industry’s biggest film and TV composers and projects. He won an Honorable Mention Winner at the 2019 USA Songwriting Competition.

The 25th Annual USA Songwriting Competition is currently accepting entries. USA Songwriting Competition is sponsored by: Fender, GHS Strings, Audio-Technica, PreSonus, Guitar Player Magazine, Recording Magazine, New Music Weekly, Loggins Promotion, Airplay Access, FL Software, Sonoma Wire Works, Berklee College of Music, DiscMakers, CD Baby, Final Mix Software, Singer Express, AAS (Applied Acoustic Systems), Pearl Snap Studios, School of Rock, etc.

The track record of past entrants getting signed and hitting the charts are staggering – a massive 93 songs have entered the Billboard Hot 100 Charts from these entrants. Past winners have gotten recording contracts, getting their songs on film, TV as well as getting cuts with major artists. The 2018 Top winner has been receiving radio airplay for his winning song. The 2018 finalist won a Grammy award in the recent 2019 Grammys. The 2013 Top winner rock band “American Authors” hit #1 on the Billboard Charts and went Double Platinum, selling over 2 million copies. The 2007 winner Air Gold hit Top 10 on the Billboard charts with his winning song 6 months after his win. The 2005 Winner of the Country category had his winning song cut by Country Superstar Faith Hill. The 2005 winner of the Pop category was signed by Interscope Records. Our 2008 winner appeared on David Letterman TV show and got signed to a record label. The top two winners of 2011: Nenna Yvonne and Alexander Cardinale were signed to Interscope Records after their win.

Songs may be entered in 15 different categories including Pop, Rock/Alternative, R&B and Country. Entries are accepted from now through May 29, 2020. For more information, visit:
