MeasureCast August Web Radio Report Finds Fewer On-Line Stations, More Listeners, More Hours Streamed

PORTLAND, Ore., Sept. 11, 2002 - MeasureCast, Inc. (www.measurecast.com), the first company to provide Internet radio broadcasters with next-day streaming audience size and demographics data, today released the MeasureCast Internet Radio Report for August, which finds that more people listened to fewer Web radio stations last month, and that many stations are streaming more hours than ever before.

In August, MeasureCast provided audience data for 1,309 streaming radio stations - 11 fewer stations than the company measured in July, and 37 fewer than it measured in June. However, those 1,309 stations streamed a combined total of 40,882,596 hours of entertainment, which was nearly 1.3 million hours more than MeasureCast-measured stations delivered in July. The August report also shows that 5.1 million people listened to Web radio stations measured by MeasureCast last month, up from 4.6 million listeners in July, and 4.3 million people in June.

MeasureCast August Top 50
JazzFM took was the number one Webcaster in the MeasureCast Top 50 Internet radio stations ranking. The London-based station streamed 1,445,730 hours of entertainment to 243,687 people. Please see the chart below for the rest of the Top 50 stations.
