MP3.com Adds Its 250,000th Artist

SAN DIEGO, November 25, 2002 -- To further celebrate its fifth anniversary as an online music pioneer, MP3.com today announced the addition of its 250,000th musical artist -- making it by far the largest musician community on the Internet.

Cody ChesnuTT is one rising independent recording artist to recently add his music to MP3.com at http://www.mp3.com/codychesnuTT. After choosing to self-produce and release his debut solo double disc through his cousin's independent label, ChesnuTT's music has received an overwhelmingly positive reception from Rolling Stone, MTV, SPIN and other influential media outlets.

Cody ChesnuTT & "The Headphone Masterpiece"
After joining and quickly departing a major label roster, Cody retreated to the solitary comfort of his bedroom studio armed with an array of instruments, one microphone and a 4-track -- where a project of epic proportions evolved: a musical diary called "The Headphone Masterpiece." As the title implies, the 36-track album was produced to give the listener a parallel experience with the one Cody had while recording and mixing all of the songs through a pair of Sony MDR-7506 headphones.

From sweet '60s soul to first wave British invasion to dirty south hip hop and post-modern dream pop, "The Headphone Masterpiece" is an evolution of Cody's life experiences, influences and risk-taking originality. Cody's engaging live show has also earned him a loyal following among his fellow artists -- and invitations to perform with Macy Gray, Saul Williams, Res and The (Legendary) Roots.
