Davis, CA - January 20, 2013 - Award-winning singer-songwriter and guitarist Dave Nachmanoff will perform two shows in California near Los Angeles and Sacramento in late January and early February. For both shows, he will perform songs from his new critically acclaimed CD "Step Up", plus fan favorites.

On Sunday, January 27, he'll make his debut at The Coffee Gallery Backstage in Altadena, California, following two sold-out shows accompanying and opening for Al Stewart in Santa Monica. After last year's glorious CD release party for "Step Up" in Sherman Oaks, you won't want to miss this return to the LA area. Mike Lindauer will be playing five string fretless bass and singing backup, and Wendysue Rosloff will provide percussion. You never know which other friends of Dave's may show up to grace the stage! Case in point, John Wicks, the lead singer of the UK power-pop band The Records ("Starry Eyes") and guitarist Joe Caccavo have just been announced as special guests. Showtime is 3 PM, $15. Make your reservations now, as seating is limited, by calling (626) 798-6236 between 10 A. M. and 10 P.M.

Then, on Saturday, February 2nd, Nachmanoff will make his debut at The Sutter Creek Theatre in Sutter Creek, California, in Amador County, about 45 miles from Sacramento. For the Sutter Creek show, Dave will be joined by Steve O'Neill (Yolo Mambo) on bass and Bart van der Zeeuw (West Nile Ramblers) on percussion. In December, Dave performed with Al Stewart at a sold out show at Harlow's in Sacramento, a clip of which is available on his Facebook page. Elsewhere in the region of late, he's performed a benefit for the Kiwanis Family House, played main stage at the Whole Earth Festival, and appeared on Capital Public Radio's public affairs show, "Insight". The Sutter Creek Theatre show starts at 8 PM. Tickets are $16 in advance and $18 day of show. Purchase tickets at www.suttercreektheatre.com or at the door, and call (916) 425-0077 for more information.

Singer-songwriter Dave Nachmanoff has toured across the United States and the world for over 15 years, both on his own and as Al Stewart's ("Year of the Cat") opening act, verbal sparring partner and lead guitarist. In appearances from the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC to the Royal Albert Hall in London, Dave has shared his songs and stories. As a side player (guitar, piano, bass, accordion and more) he's worked with Stewart on a regular basis as well as many others at hundreds of venues as far ranging as The Bottom Line, Glastonbury Festival, and the Edmonton Folk Festival.

A California based performer with nine albums under his belt, Dave Nachmanoff is known for sophisticated songwriting, clean guitar playing, rich and textured instrumentation, top-notch singing, and most importantly, an energetic show. He's been described as having "an acoustic style that's somewhere between the easygoing charm of Arlo Guthrie and the raw energy of Bruce Springsteen". A Davis resident, Dave has performed frequently in the Sacramento area, including Harlow's, and has appeared on Capital Public Radio.

"Step Up" is Dave's latest release. It was produced by Ronan Chris Murphy (King Crimson, Steve Morse), and features musicians Bob Malone (John Fogerty), Ian Sheridan (Jason Mraz) and Victor Bisetti (Los Lobos), and vocalists Al Stewart, Rosemary Butler (Jackson Browne and James Taylor), John Wicks of powerpop band The Records, and Liz Bligan. He's got nine albums in all, including his first, Candy Shower, released in 1997. He's sold over 15,000 recordings, which can be found at Amazon, iTunes, CDBaby and many other outlets.

Nationwide independent music consortium Just Plain Folks honored Dave with the 2001 Songwriter of the Year award. Recently, he has been recognized in three songwriting contests - the USA Songwriting Competition, the International Acoustic Music Awards, and the Great American Song Contest. Sing Out! Magazine has praised his "... heartfelt, inspired songwriting ... with a delivery both biting and assured."
