Direct2artist 'Reward' Service Moozar Gains Momentum At Midem
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Direct2artist reward service Moozar officially released the new version of its content monetization service at Midem 2013. The French-based startup participated in two pitch sessions, increasing audience awareness of the service and capitalizing on overwhelmingly positive crowd response to a simple business model.
Director of Strategy & Business Development Stanislas Hintzy noted, “This first Midem with the v2 of Moozar (new service, new technical team, new business model) was very interesting. Delegates were overwhelmingly positive about what Moozar is doing: giving birth to the third source of revenue in digital music - on top of paid-for downloads/subscription and ad-supported free streaming. It’s becoming clear that Moozar arrives at a time when the attitude is changing as giving through the internet is becoming mainstream. The site has been judged clean, clear and simple. We might very well have a winning proposition, we were told...”
Moozar's Reward Link concept aims to act as a voluntary method for fans to show their appreciation directly to their favorite artists by simply clicking on the link to "reward" or "tip" them wherever their music is enjoyed online. The link travels with the content wherever it's shared online, and attaches itself to the track description on an artist's established audio and video channels including YouTube, SoundCloud, Vimeo, Dailymotion, etc.
"It’s such a simple idea, the delegates we talked to wondered why nobody thought about it before. A minority were skeptical about people giving their money voluntarily. In that regard, the ‘connect2artists’ module that will essentially ask donors if they want their email passed on to the artist (so that the artist can connect to those super-fans) is on the top of the list for future developments," elaborated Hintzy.
The team capitalized on the positive feedback from the Midem crowd with onsite registrations in excess of 500 new accounts, joining the likes of Jennifer Batten (acclaimed solo artist and session guitarist for Michael Jackson and Jeff Beck), Razor & Tie Records (US), Hotfingers Records (Italy), Shannon Hurley (Los Angeles, CA) and Ho Hum Records (UK), among others. As the rollout of Moozar's rebooted service moves forward, the team is concentrating on spreading the word and developing promotional tips and news to share through their own network of artists as well as Moozar's social media channels.
